Auditions for DEAR EVAN HANSEN
WHERE: Academy Players of RI 180 Buttonhole Dr Providence, RI 02909 *Please look for audition signs once you arrive to find which room we will be in.
WHEN: Sunday, May 31st 12pm - 7pm Tuesday, June 2nd 6:30pm-9pm *Callbacks Sunday, June 7th 4-8pm (please indicate at auditions your availability for callbacks)
AGE RANGE: Actors must be 16+ at time of audition
REHEARSALS: Tuesdays/Wednesdays 6:30-9:30pm Beginning June 16th *Tentatively adding Mondays 6:30-9:30 beginning August 24th *Tech Week 9/12 - 9/16 (individual call times/days for tech week will be determined later in the process)
PERFORMANCES: September 17 - October 4th (Thursday - Sunday shows) *If you have a show conflict(s), please still audition as we may be able to work around it if we utilize double casting and/or understudies
PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION: All actors should come prepared with their choice of a 1-2 minute cut of contemporary musical theater. Actors should choose something that best showcases their vocal range and acting abilities. We will have a speaker set up to be able to play backing tracks – which you will send to the stage manager upon arrival to auditions. We will not have an accompanist.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Please arrive during the window you signed up for. At auditions you will fill out a form with your information, conflicts, experience, etc. You do not need to provide a resume and headshot, but are happy to accept them if you bring one. You will be asked about role preferences as well. You will also choose a cold read monologue (these will be provided) at auditions to gauge acting abilities. Once you and the production team are ready, we will see you in the room for auditions.
